The main objective of the challenge is to make young people aware of global water issues and to challenge them to think about this from a frame of SDGs. The challenge is explicitly not intended to objectively value the qualities of participants or to rank them (as is the case with a music contest, for example). In that sense, judging should therefore be seen as a game element to reinforce the challenge outlined. In line with this, the aim is to make young people enthusiastic about “conducting research as a way of finding solutions” (in the tradition of the Society).

The challenge also aims at generating concrete proposals that really contribute to achievements on global SDGs. That is why the focus will be on connecting with the business community and educational institutes to come up with proposals that can really be implemented in the actual practice.
