Wavemakers United organized, together with Bruggencampus, municipality Almere, municipality Flevoland, Aeres Hogeschool en Suit-case, a makeathon about building sustainable cities. They focused on innovating sustainable infrastructures for the Olympic Games in Paris 2024, as it aims to become the most sustainable Olympic Games ever! Chef the Emission Marcelien Bos-de Koning kicked off the day by inspiring the students about already exciting sustainable innovations for these Olympic Games. Joost Bergers from the Province of Flevoland showed the students the circular and innovative bridges that are built on the Floriade. The winning team will receive extra support and coaching by the Bruggencampus while they compete in the UN2023 Gamechanger Challenge.
We hope to see their idea, starting at the Floriade, back at the UN2023 Water Conference where the top five ideas will be pitched! And maybe… their innovations will reach the Olympic Games in Paris!
